YOU ARE ENOUGH.

YOU ARE ENOUGH.

In all your magnificient imperfection...

Hey Friends,

I don’t know about you but my inbox is giving me anxiety right now.

And the weird thing is, the subject lines that are causing me the most stress are the ones that I THINK are trying to be helpful and encouraging.

“5 ways to grow your business during lockdown”

“Adapt and overcome - hard work never stops”

“100 activities to entertain your kids”

“Here’s your quarantine reading list:”

“Make the most of this season - soak in the Word”

Obviously there’s nothing inherently wrong with any of this stuff. Actually, it’s all really admirable - maybe it even breathes life into you. If so, feel free to get on with crushing your life and smashing your goals. I’m cheering you on! You’re kind of my hero! For real!

But if, like me, you find all this pressure to maximise and capitalise, to thrive and flourish, to rise above and conquer all the adversity we’re facing completely exhausting and overwhelming: this email is for you.

YOU ARE ENOUGH.

Not the “ideal” version of you who has lost those extra pounds, started an online company, perfectly nailed the Keto diet and read the entire Bible in a week while fasting.

YOU right now, in the present tense, in all your magnificent imperfection, very possibly still in your pyjamas well into the afternoon, are ENOUGH.

This is what it means to live in light of the finished work of the cross.

The essence of grace is that we believe God is not weighing us down with unmet expectations or piling pressure on our shoulders.

He’s carrying our burdens - not creating them.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11: 28-30

Jesus is not trying to endlessly drive your productivity, barking orders and jam-packing your calendar like a fired-up CEO.

He is speaking tenderly to you in this wilderness.

He is whispering that it’s okay if you’re not on top of things, because He is.

He knows you’re going though a LOT right now.

So even if the kitchen is in chaos, your teeth are unbrushed, your prayer life is in disarray and your meal plan is just a McDonalds Value Menu:

You are not disappointing Him.

You are beloved.

You are ENOUGH.

Love,
Rend Co.
