Just because we intellectually KNOW God’s promises, doesn’t mean we always feel them to be true. Counting Every Blessing came from a season of real wrestling with God because we couldn’t see his promises coming to pass. We despaired instead of looking at the signs of His goodness along the way. It’s so easy to give in to looking at what God hasn’t done yet rather than counting the blessings God has already given us.

This shirt design was inspired by the story of Abraham and when God took him out to count the stars in the sky, telling him...

"Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That's how many descendants you will have!"

And Abraham, despite his circumstances, trusted and believed that God’s promise would come to pass.

So today we say to you look around, look up count the blessings God has already given you and make this your prayer of faith “Surely every season you are God to me”

I think we will all agree like Abraham, there are too many to count!

"I was blind, now I'm seeing in color
I was dead, now I'm living forever
I had failed, but you were my redeemer
I've been blessed beyond all measure

I am counting every blessing, counting every blessing
Letting go and trusting when I cannot see
I am counting every blessing, counting every blessing
Surely every season you are good to me"

  • A few months ago, I was going through a very difficult season. I was wondering where Gods grace was in my situation. I didn’t see my situation as a blessing. The chorus of this song would constantly play in my mind and it helped me realise that I was not alone and that the season I was going through was part of His plan, even though I could not understand it. This song has been an absolute blessing for me! Thank you!

  • It’s amazing to me how God has used this song. There are times that I am frustrated ,complaining about the material things in life ; thinking I wish things were different . It’s at these times, that God puts the refrain from this song in my mind . It makes me smile, and say " oh yeah , you are right. I am blessed". Thank you!

  • Knowing God is like opening up a whole new dimension! Sometimes we don’t even know how lost and blind we are, then He appears, and welcomes us into fulness of security and vision, all bought with His blood and death on the cross. Thank you for your faithfulness to Him!

  • That’s a nice message. Every time I think about how much God has blessed me, it’s so much easier to live out His purpose. I also love how God hides little blessings out in plain sight. For me, it’s the rain…I love rain, I could talk about it all day.
